Middleton

Named for its location between the old Fort Boise and Kenney’s Ferry, it was the midway point between the two.

Middleton is the oldest settlement in Canyon County and was home of the Ward Massacre in 1854. In 1872 the Boise River Flooded and isolated the town on an island causing the town to be moved to an new location late in 1880.

With the motto “Balancing Tradition and Progress”, Middleton has continued to grow while maintaining its rural feel.

Annual events include the 4th of July, Fall Craft Bazaar and Christmas Parade.
